Aoshima Shuzo (青島酒造), located in Fujieda City (藤枝市), Shizuoka Prefecture, was founded in 1868. Known for its flagship brand Kikuyoi (喜久酔), the brewery is recognized for producing sake with refined elegance and delicate flavors, characteristic of the Shizuoka style (静岡流).
Master brewer Aoshima Takashi (青島孝) initially pursued a career in finance, working in an investment advisory firm after graduating from university. After studying financial theory at a graduate school in New York, he returned to Japan to continue the family’s brewing tradition.
Kikuyoi (喜久酔) consistently ranks among Japan's top sake brands. Its subtle, aromatic profile has earned it a dedicated following. The brewery focuses on traditional brewing techniques while ensuring each batch retains its distinct finesse and balance.
